S22 TMR

1999
Well, S22 TMR's career started very similar to her sister, S2's, but they ended up on totally different career paths. She was the test car prior to the 1999 season, sporting the Evo V's looks, but just as Monte Carlo arrived, she was a full Evo VI.

The Monte wasn't so kind for the car and the drivers: on day2, Loix made a mistake, and they had to retire with a broken radiator. The next round for her was Spain, where a 4th place was the prize (after team orders, Loix had to get a time penalty to allow Mäkinen to get more points).

With just two weeks between Spain and Corsica, like S2 TMR, she was used again: Loix came home 8th after problems and his lack of experience.

The sister-car system would have indicated that she made the trip down to New Zealand, but she didn't: she entirely disappeared from the stages, and became the official test car for the team. In this role, she was used by Loix on the Ypres Rally, winning it against a very strong opposition.

She was serving her test car duties all season long - she had a major role in the emergence of new developments, which slowly formed the cars into Evo 6.5s.

Whereabouts
She was the test car until Ralliart introduced the Evo WRC. After that, she was put into a container and sent to Okazaki; it is on display at Mitsubishi's Research and Development Centre, occasionally taken out for a spin or a bigger show.
