KN04 WMA -like KX53 BKU- was maybe the unluckiest car of the WRC04-05 fleet: she was a brand new car, and thus became a tarmac car. She made her debut on the OMV ADAC Deutschland Rallye with Gilles Panizzi; so far, everything looks good. However, the 2004 event was one of the trickiest tarmac rally in the history of WRC thanks to the ever changing weather and grip conditions. After the first day, they were in 6th place, with 5th within reach. But on the first stage of the second day, Gilles made a mistake and hit a tree hard with his side of the car. The chassis resembled a croissant more than a rally car (thankfully both Gilles and Hervé were uninjured), and since new cars were being built, she wasn't repaired.
